A monthly conference call will take place on the first Monday of each month, starting April 6, 2009, at 15:00 UTC (08:00 PDT, 11:00 EDT).
[edit] Call-in Details
- To join the call, dial one of these numbers at the scheduled time:
- North America toll-free number: +1-800-786-1922
- North America direct-dial number: +1-404-920-6695
- When prompted, enter the participant code: 37673695#
- When prompted, record your name.
- Your name will be announced as you join the meeting.
Call controls:
- Press *4 to adjust volume. (Each time you press *4 the volume will increase one step until the maximum is reached, at which point it will drop to the lowest step).
- Press *6 to toggle mute on/off (Note: this may be better than muting your handset, because it will mute your line at the conference server, reducing any static on your line from being conveyed to the call).
Important notes:
- There is a maximum of 50 participants.
- Recordings and notes will be posted here on the wiki. Note: If you participate in the call, the voice recording of your participation will be released under this site's license. Do not participate if you do not consent to have your voice recorded and the recording released under this wiki's license terms.
[edit] IRC and Gobby
The #teachingopensource IRC channel on Freenode is always available and is a suitable place for sharing URLs, e-mail addresses, and other information relevant to the call. In addition, it would be useful if some attendees on the call could keep a running summary of the call on IRC for the benefit of those who are not able to join the call due to location or hearing or speech disability.
A Gobby collaborative-editing server will be available on the teachingopensource.org server on the standard port (6522) for collaboratively recording the minutes. Gobby clients are available from http://gobby.0x539.de/
